Doctors’ Offices

July 28th, 2010
Tim Bryce asked:

One of the most uninviting places to visit has to be a Doctor’s office. First, we normally go there because we have a pain or suffer from some ailment which doesn’t put us in the best of moods to begin with, but to add insult to injury, you have to contend with the peculiarities of the doctor’s office staff, a very cold group of workers who are more concerned with processing you like an order as opposed to treating you like a human-being. On your first visit to a doctor’s office, you are bombarded with a substantial amount of paperwork in triplicate, which I guess we have to thank our lawyer friends for. I visited a new doctor recently and was overwhelmed by the paperwork. There were more waivers of rights than there was anything pertaining to my medical history. I felt like I was more in an attorney’s office than a doctor’s.

The decor of doctors’ offices are basically the same which is pretty plain, with outdated or irrelevant magazines to read, and a whiff of isopropyl alcohol in the air. I find patients in the waiting room tend to keep to themselves and do not like to engage in conversation, maybe because they’re embarrassed by their ailment or maybe because they only speak a foreign language. When you try to strike up a conversation with someone, they look at you like they are being interrogated by the FBI or border patrol. On the walls of the office are the doctor’s degrees and certificates which are intended to impress you. Some doctors tend to overdue it though as they frame everything from their college degree to their safety patrol or bar mitzvah certificates.

I guess what irritates me the most though is making an appointment with a doctor which he or she rarely keeps. If I’ve got an appointment, medical or otherwise, I tend to arrive a few minutes early as I do not like to be late. But doctors’ really do not care about your time, even when you take time off from work to visit them. I’ve got a real problem with this as I wouldn’t treat my customers this way. If the doctor is late, my impatience slowly brews until I can’t take it anymore and storm out of the office (I’ve done this on more than one occasion), and frankly, I wish more people would do this. The office staff then tries to threaten you that they will still bill you for the appointment, which is actually a veiled threat. I just point out the time to them, and threaten to bill them for my lost time. I just can’t figure out why after practicing medicine for so long, they can’t make a simple schedule and keep it. Everybody else does. To me, its a sign of disrespect.

Doctors are not alone in terms of having poorly run offices; Dentists are just as guilty. But the only thing worse than a doctor’s office has to a hospital, which even the doctors describe as, “One of the unhealthiest places on Earth.”

How the doctor to identify the cornea shape change?

July 11th, 2010
Expert E asked:

I have visited two doctors and I was told that there is no scar or other damage on the cornea. But I am suffering from the double vision especially the right eye after wearing about 6.5 year CRT night only contact lens. One guess is that the cornea shape is change (of couse, very very little). But how to know the cornea has no change or changed? The CRT doctor said the initial image in 2000 was deleted from the computer because this file size is too large.
Thanks.

About Buying Doctor Gifts

June 16th, 2010
Spencer Baselice asked:

A doctor is a special person that spends time to look after your family and make sure everyone is in great health. Many times they will go out of their way to care for someone who is sick and in need of extra help. Those doctors usually receive nice medical gifts and other tokens of appreciation.

If you are searching for a token of appreciation for a medical professional there are many stores that sell gifts for doctors. They feature the highest quality medical gifts that any doctor would love to put in their home or office. These gifts feature caduceus symbols and are made of top quality materials. They are an exceptional way to say thank you!

Specialty Stores

The best place to shop is at a specialty store that features a selection of medical gifts, organizers and other office supplies and decor just for doctors. These stores sell all sorts of unique items with caduceus symbols on them.

These gifts are also typically well-made, because they are designed to be professional gifts. That means they are crafted of marble, glass and brass, along with other fine materials. They have both a practical and aesthetic appeal.

What to Buy

Purchasing the right medical gifts is more important than buying them from the right place. That\’s why it is important to figure out which gifts to buy first.

Most caduceus themed gifts are ideal for any medical professional, however some may be more appealing to your doctor. Consider whether they could use office supplies, a clock or a photo frame before you choose your doctor gifts.

If they already have a complete desk set, you might consider buying them something that relates to a hobby.

Some doctors love golf and that may lead you to consider buying a golf memo holder, or something similar. This isn\’t the most professional gift idea, however if you know your doctor well enough they might appreciate it more.

In most cases, people usually stick to the professional gift ideas for their doctors. That doesn\’t mean you can\’t choose something different however.

Your doctor and any medical professional will appreciate anyt type of gift they receive. Being recognized for doing someone a favor, or just for keeping tabs on their patients is a rewarding experience itself. The best gifts for doctors are the ones you choose yourself!

Doctor Note - Credible Medical Excuses for the Absent Employee

June 15th, 2010
Dr. E.Z. Streat asked:

Doctor CREDIBLE MEDICAL EXCUSES FOR THE ABSENT EMPLOYEE

Reasons for taking time off work vary. Be it a family emergency, a medical condition, a misunderstanding with a co-worker, a hangover or a much needed break from stress employees everywhere and anywhere from the supervisors down to the rank and file will always have reasons to absent themselves. Unfortunately for most companies, employees take time off from work usually for reasons that are just unacceptable in a professional environment. Most of the time the more credible excuses are medical and should come with a doctor note.

The more common and credible excuses used by employees would include the common cold or the flu. Because it is infectious in nature, employees with colds or flu are usually allowed to stay at home in order to keep co-workers from catching the virus. Those with colds and flu are usually advised a day or two of bedrest as well as medication and plenty of fluids.

Physical injuries such as sprains and muscle strains are also common medical excuses especially if it effectively prevents the employee from performing the current job. A doctor note for injuries may require some amount of home stay and rest as well as special instructions on certain tasks that employees may or may not perform. A doctor note may contain for example certain limitations in terms of the number of hours an employee can stand or as to how heavy a weight the employee can carry. These instructions would of course depend on how severe the injury is. Other related excuses would be severe back pains and other muscular pains and injuries.

Another common medical excuse that an absent employee may present in a doctor note would be intestinal or abdominal pain or discomfort, usually caused by food poisoning and diarrhea. Dehydration resulting from such illnesses can make the employee severely weak. Moreover, the discomfort can also be distracting at work and may compel you to use toilet facilities every so often. For these type of illness a doctor note may recommend another day or two rest.

Skin allergies and infectious skin diseases are also common medical excuses for absences from work. Carbuncles and boils which aside from being painful, can also infect a co-worker are valid excuses that may be placed in a doctor note. Carbuncles take a while but it will not be until its last stages that the pain will become unbearable. This entails minor surgery but will not get you off work for more than a day.

Other acceptable medical excuses are however more difficult to make up because of its severity and extent. Of course if your illness genuinely requires hospitalization then you are more than excused from work

But whatever the reason and whatever the excuse, what’s more important is that you have a good doctor note to back you up. Most of the time unless employees present their doctor note, their absences incur consequences ranging from salary deductions to termination. If you’re faking it a credible doctor note can be found and purchased online, complete with a hospital and clinic logo as well as physician details, contact information and signature.

The Symptoms of Virus Doctor

May 30th, 2010
Carl Atkinson asked:

I am an avid computer user and I have had my share of successes and failures with the technological world. While I have reaped many benefits from my extensive computer use, I have also run into quite a large number of problems while using my computer. In my opinion, one of the biggest dangers with using computers is the so-called antispyware industry. Many of these programs which claim to solve problems with spyware are very problematic in and of themselves. One such program goes by the name of Virus Doctor. If you ever receive any pop ups from this organization, the worst thing you can do is to follow the instructive prompts on the pop ups and download Virus Doctor’s full version. What you need to do is find a real solution.

This article will discuss Virus Doctor and warn you of some of the symptoms your system will experience if it is infected with Virus Doctor. As mentioned above, Virus Doctor claims to solve problems with spyware and viruses. So in order to sell you its product, Virus Doctor tells you that your system is facing threats from spyware or viruses. This is the first problem with Virus Doctor - that it is entirely premised on a lie. In other words, Virus Doctor is a scam which attempts to trick you into believing it is the only viable solution to your problem. This is all you really need to know about Virus Doctor: It is a scam and you will regret it if you send money to order its full version.

Besides being an outright scam, Virus Doctor affects your system in a variety of other ways. First of all, Virus Doctor will install itself on your system without your consent. And when it is installed on your computer you will know it because you will be unable to use your system without an incessant supply of pop ups, warning you of the “threats” to your system. And if this isn’t bad enough, Virus Doctor will also install other types of spyware or adware to your system in an effort to legitimize their claims that your system is in trouble.

In addition to pop up advertisements and warnings, your system will act as if it had a mind of its own. It is likely that Virus Doctor will repeatedly change your browser without your consent. You will be unable to retain your home page due to Virus Doctor’s ability to redirect you to a site of its choosing - most commonly Virus Doctor’s site. The most threatening symptom of Virus Doctor, however, is that it compromises your security and privacy. Like other forms of spyware, Virus Doctor tracks your computer movement and sends your information to unknown sources. The last thing you want is for computer hackers to have your private and personal information.

So if you are experiencing problems with Virus Doctor you need to find a program which can eliminate Virus Doctor itself. Look for a product guaranteed to remove all types of spyware, including Virus Doctor in one scan.

To scan your pc for free and find out if you have Virus Doctor click here.

The Life and Career of a Naturopathic Doctor

May 26th, 2010
MIKE SELVON asked:

A good naturopathic doctor, while very skilled, may still not enjoy the same types of perks as other conventional doctors. Naturopathy is still struggling to get noticed in the same aspects of medicine as conventional drug-based treatments.

Doctors in naturopathic medicine are, however, highly respected in their fields and are considered to be very successful in their expertise. A good doctor in this field knows that he or she is making a difference day after day.

In essence, a naturopathic doctor practices medicine that is designed around assisting the body’s own capacity to recover and restore its own health. Naturopathic medicine or naturopathy is one of the newer schools of medical thought and philosophy.

It is often frowned upon by those in traditional medicine, but naturopathy does take its place in the arena of other alternative medicines such as chiropractic and herbalism.

Such a doctor has every confidence in their craft and aims to help patients by utilizing the body’s own inner strength.

Typical medical treatment in this field is based on employing a variety of modes. These modes are represented by elements such as acupuncture, herbalism, whole foods treatment, aromatherapy, and hydrotherapy.

With these elements, treatment in this field may also have a reliance on forms of psychological treatments to help prepare the mind and assist with overall recovery.

A doctor in this field will use his treatment options to help patients with a variety of ailments and conditions. Acne, for example, is a skin condition that lends itself to such a treatment.

Acne naturopathic medical treatment works with the surface of the skin, sometimes with a form of hydrotherapy coupled with a change in eating habits, to ease the process of acne on the skin. Many people are turning to such acne treatment for their problem skin.

Another example of an ailment that many people seek out naturopathic treatment for is pain. A doctor in this field may have a specialty in pain control and may dedicate a large period of time in his or her life to the study of pain and its psychological implications.

Any qualified American naturopathic med association, for example, has a full treatment regimen based on the consequences of pain.

These standards are typically imposed by each individual doctor based on their known treatments. There is a rising need for some sort of association in this field to deal with some of the known issues in forming such a school of thought.

Nonetheless, a doctor in this field is still relatively alone in the field of medicine. While they may practice alongside conventional medical doctors, he may often still be looked down upon by his peers.

This can happen despite having the same amount of medical treatment. such a doctor, in many cases, is more in tune with certain aspects of medicine that many conventional doctors ignore, such as the psychological aspect of healing.

Within the confines of modern medicine, many doctors in this field do not believe they will ever experience equality.

The reality behind naturopathic medicine is that it is gaining steam in mainstream circles with its unique approach to medicine. Instead of treating symptoms, doctors in this field treat the whole of the patient and take a more holistic approach to medicine.

He will consider all of the elements of treatment when looking at a patient, ensuring that they get the best possible care.
